Gum arabic stabilizes lotions, protective creams,
and emulsion. It increases the viscosity, assists
in imparting spreading, adds a smooth feel to
the skin, and forms a protective coating. It is
also a binding agent in the formulation of
compact cakes and rouges and acts as
an adhesive in the preparation
of facial masks.
